This performance was done in the absence of Kevin with Kirk Eklund also on acoustic guitar. The band performed two songs for the given 8-minute set. They started off with Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" (w/ Adam on harmonica), and ended with a band classic "Wild Thing". Both songs provoked audience participation, however it was "Wild Thing" that recieved the most with audience members singing out the chorus.


Gay Straight Alliance Open Mike

Adam and Kevin first performed "Heart of Gold". Loosening up they then performed Chip Taylor's "Wild Thing" combinding it with "Louie Louie". Later Adam came back to play "The Needle and the Damage Done" by Neil Young and Bob Dylan's "Knocking On Heaven's Door". Towards the end of the evening Adam accompanied Steve Sanda for two more Neil Young numbers: "Ohio" and "Rocking in the Free World".


Kingston 275th Aniversary Parade
8/4/01

Mother Anonymous performed while on a trailer which carried them along an hour-long parade route. They performed: "Wild Thing", "Takin' Care of Business", "Killing Floor", "Centerfold", "Wipe Out", and "I Like To Move It". After completing the parade, the band picked up three drumming mariners who also partook in the parade procession. One of the men sat in on a spirited rendition of "Takin' Care of Business" while Evan sat out. The mariners also have a site

Kingston Woodstock 2001
8/25/01

The third Kingston Woodstock stepped things up a notch with four bands performing on the outside stage. The first was Overdrive, who played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Wild Thing". After their performance, White Guys From Suberbia played a set of their original material, as well as a remake of the Allman Brother's "Mellissa".
After thier conclussion, former MA member Chris Donnelly's band, Highstakes, played a set of originals. They were very tight as a band, and performed "Dumped".

Mother Anonymous took the stage with Chris Donnelly to perform "Takin' Care of Business". After that they debued a number of new songs including "You Don't Know How It Feels" by Tom Petty. They performed their standard repetouire, and then performed Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" with Evan doing a 3 minute drum solo. Kevin and Evan then debuted "Imagine", leading into Adam's acoustic set. He performed Phish's "The Wedge" and Neil Young's "Cowgirl in the Sand".
Next, the band called up friend Robert Murphy to the stage to perform a number of Crosby Stills Nash & Young songs. (Find The Cost of Freedom/Ohio, Almost Cut My Hair, Long Time Gone) After they were done they called Kirk Eklund up to play the last song "Wild Thing" ending the night.


Salvation Army Benefit

Mother Anonymous was asked by Overdrive, who played at Woodstock, to play at the benefit. 3 bands performed to collect money for the Salvation Army. The first band to play was Ninety Nine Cent Special, who played a number of original punk numbers. Next was Overdrive, who played Neil Young and Hendrix tunes. Mother Anonymous drew from their Woodstock set, but in the solo segment, Kevin performed "Brick" by Ben Folds Five, and Evan performed Santana's "Treat". For the conclussion of the show, Overdrive joined MA for an end jam on "Wild Thing".


Falmouth Academy Gala

The Falmouth Academey Gala had a number of different activities, one of which was a coffeehouse room. It was that room which Mother Anonymous performed to a tightly packed audience. In mid-set, Adam broke a string and luckily was able to borrow a guitar. The band debued "Trouble" by Coldplay, which they learned two hours before the show. Kevin swithced from sax and keyboard, and at the end of their set, the band stepped aside for Evan to do a drum solo cascading to the end.
